Rifles
We use rifles for hunting, plinking, self-defense and competition. Shooting accurately comes through attention to marksmanship.
It can be challenging to enter a Match and yet we will do what we can to
make it a fun event. We have rifles available that may be used and
will take the time to walk you through every step. Contact the
Match Director in advance so you can feel comfortable.
We support NRA Certification through which you can get patches for your
progress.
| Light Rifle | Light Rifle is held monthly for .22 rifles
and shooters of all ages. The Club has .22 Savage Rifles
available or you can supply your own. Today we have single-shot, bolt-action, pump-action, and semi-automatic .22 rifles for all size people. The semi-automatic action is increasingly popular for accuracy as well as action sporting events. |
| High-Power rifle | High-Power originated as a test of
marksmanship with military rifles in the standing, sitting and
prone positions. We continue this event on the 100 yard
range. Today the event may be entered with a hunting rifle, a tactical carbine with optics, a purpose-built target rifle with or without optics, and the more traditional Service rifle. It's all about the marksmanship. Join us on the first Sunday each month May through September, at 1:00 PM. A typical Match will require 60 rounds and the cost is $15. |
